Course Description
As a skill-oriented and learner-centered course for third-year Chinese undergraduates
who major in English, English Speaking aims to help learners achieve accuracy, fluency and
proficiency in English communication. Learners are expected to lay a solid language
foundation and be armed with self-regulated learning abilities for high-level knowledge
exploration. In addition to speaking skills, participants must reflect on social issues and
express their own voice clearly and logically, acknowledge and respect social, economic and
cultural differences among English speaking countries. Learners are encouraged to foster
