Learning moment 1:
When I stayed at my home country – Vietnam, I just think that I am a daughter, who takes care
for everyone in my family. Or sometime, I think that I am a student and I need to have the best
performance. However, since I left my family to go to New Zealand for studying abroad, I have
undergone a lot of activities so that I can evaluate myself more than just a daughter or a student.
When I have a group work, I am becoming a group member who is responsible, friendly, and a
team player. Furthermore, when I am a flatmate, I am an organized, supportive, and happy
person. Within several identities, some of them are personal such as I am a student; a part of
them are social identities which relate with another person, such as I am a daughter; and some
identities are collective, which I can be a group member. With that identities, I have learned that
I do not have a specific identity that I need to follow, my identity will be depended on situations
around me.
