The person that has influenced my life dramatically is my grandfather. He was a
soft-spoken Godly man that put the needs everyone else before himself. He is the wisest
man that I have ever known and if I become a fraction of the man that he is I would still be
considered a great man. I have only had a chance to be around my grandfather until I was 8
years old since he still lives in Romania but now I realize that his entire life he lived as a
servant leader and that is why I now believe he has made such an impact in my life.
Growing up in Romania we were very poor and food was not readily available. I
remember at dinner my grandpa would wait until everyone else was served before serving
himself. We were selfish kids so we took as much food as can fit on our plates since
second servings were rare. After we were finished my grandpa would eat any leftovers
from our plates since he was barely left anything and since he was more concerned about
us being nourished than himself. When we ever did anything wrong he would comfort us
but he took initiative when it was necessary and had a firm stance on Biblical principles
because he lived what he preached. This is how he lived every aspect of his life and it has
had a tremendous impact on me.
