Leadership
Different jobs or projects demand a different approach with independent and
individual loci to be explored. Problem, People and Proviso are never the same in two
different situations and a similar approach can never be employed by a leader. I
believe that a strong leader with will and determination would do extremely well with
the task at hand.
I consider myself to be a strong authoritarian, partly because I worked in a
hierarchical environment at different niches and also because of my past experiences.
I have worked on clinical study research projects and executing complex SOPs
demanded a stricter tone. When working with peers and acquaintances, it is hard to
purely command and control the work. A capable person does not need to be micro
managed. When people are intelligent and committed, ethical and honest, a leader
need not be authoritative. A directive leadership is often seen as a bad thing and it is
sometimes considered arrogance. I am arrogant too, but only when I have a strong
and substantial data to support my claim or when the claims made by others are bad.
A self-believing leader, I think will be more effective. A democratic style, where
everyone gets their way, or a place where the decision depends on the majority may
not work at all times. And the leader may not get the minority to work with others.
