Great leaders make it look easy for the executives that admire them. But leaders had a hard
time reaching to place where they are today. Most successful people have to work hard on
themselves to be a great and better leader. Clearly, the ‘BIG FIVE’ are key influencers in the
adaptability of a successful leadership. The most common pitfalls are associated with the big
five model of personality dimensions.
The first includes the ‘need for stability’. Emotional stability is necessary to cope
up with stress and it has some disadvantages too. There can be two situations– the first one
being you are too composed. This may not work out in the time of urgency. They may not
understand why others are worried. To solve this such a person should come up with three
reasons why it may not happen. The second one includes you can be too impatient and
overreact. They need to find ways that can empty their anger container that reaches to its brim.
The second influencer is ‘extraversion’. This states you can be too energetic or too
introspective. Being too assertive and interrupting between the things can trigger perception
that person is too talkative. Simple remedy for them can be four sentence rule. The other kind
of people who are more internally focused need to learn to behave like extraverts.
The next one is ‘openness’. If people are too conventional they are unwilling to
give results without all the data. If they are too high on this its unsettling for those who want
consistency. The ‘agreeableness’ is next thing required for leaders. They can’t to too rational,
they need to change their state of mind if it is so. If they are too considerate they are
