1. Q: What is the fundamental difference between an immigrant and
refugee?
A: Immigrant is a person from another country who wishes to live in Canada
permanently, whereas a refugee is forced to flee from persecution and seeks
protection in Canada.
2. Q: Describe in your own words the principle of non-refoulement?
A: Non- refoulement is a principal of international law, which prevents a
country that is receiving refugees from returning them back to the country
where their life if in danger of persecution due to race, religion, nationality
and etc. Until their application is in process, they are able to stay.
3. Q: What is a refugee sur place?
A: Refugee sur place is when a person did not flee his/her country due to
the fear of persecution but later became a refugee and in need of protection
