Nike Revolt
The New York Times article, “At Nike, Revolt Led by Women Leads to Exodus of Male
Executives” addresses the workplace discrimination that female employees at Nike have faced. This
article was posted in April of 2018, but within the article there are many cases suggesting the
longevity of this problem. In order to fully understand this article, I identified the term, no–
retribution policy, which I was unfamiliar with but mentioned frequently throughout the article. I
found out that this policy prohibits the punishment of any employee that reports unlawful activity
within the workplace. This is also a very important factor because there are many cases addressed in
the article where women reported a sexual encounter or an act of discrimination and they were
either laid off or told that they were in the wrong. In one specific case, an employee whose supervisor
attempted to kiss her, decided to report this incident to human resources. She was taken back when
