Abstract
The ship breaking and recycling industry which changes over end-of-life ships into steel and other
recyclable things. Ship recycling offers the most method for disposing old vessels which is
environmentally sustainable. Shipbreaking is mainly a challenging process, because of the
structural complexity of the ships and the environmental, safety and health issues also involved.
Most ships have a lifetime just only a few o decades (28-year life length normal) there’s such a lot
wear that refitting and repair becomes uneconomical. There are around 45,000 maritime ships on
the world including cargo ships, general container ships and also some luxury ships. Every year
about 700 are taken out of service and scrapped to retrieve their steel content Shipbreaking permits
materials from the ship, especially steel, to be reused. Equipment which is collected f on board the
vessel can also be reused. It can be said that the 95% of any ship is recyclable. As a result, the
shipbreaking has been become profitable. The main reason for establishment of this industry
everywhere throughout the world is the utility and versality of iron the limited source of iron mine.
Moreover, as the old and unusable ships cause environmental pollution and causes the economical
losses and binds the owners to maintain the very cost, the recycling is the only way
