Purpose

Eonis J. Vorvis (plaintiff) went on trial to the trial court for wrongful dismissal
against Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (Defendant)
The trial judge found that Vorvis had been wrongfully dismissed and was entitled
to damages.
The trial judge rejected claims for lost pension rights, mental distress, and
aggravated and punitive damages.
On appeal, the Court of Appeal, the court confirmed the decision of the trial
judge but made an additional award for loss of overtime.
