Diversity in Latino Families & Major Conflicts
Summary:
Diversity & segregation in Latino Families is crucial as they immigrate to the United States, it is
something that has always caused issues in our country. Much like African American’s had to be
segregated in previous discussions, Latino families suffer from the same problem. Mexican-
origin populations are often referred to the Latino population and may even be referred as
“Chicanos” The Influential Chicago School of Sociology actually led other scholars to believe
that Mexican immigration, settlement, and poverty created problems in developing urban centers,
making Latino families a problem in the United States as they were then targeted and still
continue to be targets of social reform.
