Have you ever taken a moment to stop and think what truly the purpose to life is?
Maybe you’re young and your purpose is to just grow up and get a job, or maybe to make sure
your family has a home and is well taken care of. Everyone has their own unique purpose and as
you grow up those purposes can and most likely will change as the people and places around
you are changing. In the book “The Lantern Bearers” by Rosemary Sutcli) you get to fully
embrace the main character, Aquila, and how his life changes dras+cally, which ul+mately alters
his purpose in life. In the beginning of the novel Aquila is presumed to be about 18 years old, he
is in the Roman Army and lives a wealthy life with his sister and father. As the novel progresses
Aquila leaves the army, his father kill, sister kidnapped and Aquila is now a slave to the people
known as the Saxons. A/er these life changing events Aquila’s purpose to continue to live
