1. The six employees are covered by the NLRA. The law clearly states they have the right to protest
which the )ve jointly decided to do together. Their protest was with in guidelines and did not
break any boundaries . Although the company did indeed interfere with employees rights. It
does not ma-er that the employees where not represented by an o.cial labor union at the
time. Representation can be made and picked at a later time and at their choosing. The
individual person is not protected under this law.
2. Bird Engineering did indeed violate section 8(a)(1). The company had put unfair restraints on
employees’ rights with now legitimate notice of said changes. The employees upon hire had
understood that their lunch time/break time was there personal time o6 the clock to be able to
be spent as chosen with an understanding that they would return to work a7er said time was up.
Further the employees had demonstrated a form of protest which is protected under section 7
to allow them to reject activities and position a bargaining.
3. Bird Engineering did not violate Section 8 with an unfair labor practice against employee. She
was exercising a protest that was already taken place by the )ve other employees to leave the
building during break, sadly she was not a collective party. Personally, she should of had at least
been allowed to collect the necessary items from her car for lunch as well as medicine. The
negligence of the company to not notify employees prior to their next shi7 restrained employees
