1. Why did Kathy Hudson make such a major change in IS resource
management at Kodak?
“Directed by the CEO to increase efficiency and decrease costs, ISD
between l986 and l987 began a process of consolidating and standardizing
data center and telecommunications operations.” Kodak had excess
frameworks working over their distinctive business zones and they were
working with various operating standards. The business had the theory
to auction non-center administrations and as IT was being redone it was
a conspicuous stride for IT to take after the patterns of the business.

“By re-engineering the IS value chain, we became convinced that
commodity type IS services could best be procured through alliances and
partnerships with world-class service providers, thus allowing the internal
resources to be focused on high value–adding IS activities.” The operations
