Kimberly Clark: An Environmental Supporter
The environment has always been a priority of most companies to keep themselves ahead of
every other major company/corporation. Kimberly Clark is one of those green companies. Kimberly Clark
is a companies that manufacture toiletries and household products that can be used for the whole
family. Some examples are Pose, Pull-Ups, and Viva paper towels. Their reason for becoming a more
green company uses one of the five theories of ethics, which are, ethical fundamentalism, utilitarianism,
Kantian ethics, Rawls’s social justice theory and ethical relativism. The one that I have chosen is ethical
relativism. The theory of ethical relativism states that “individuals decide what is ethical, based on their
own feelings as to what is right or wrong.” This company has been concerned about the environment
for years after all of the tragedy and loss of forests and animals, that pollution creates in our
environment. My argument is that Kimberly Clark has done a better job in reducing their carbon
footprint and securing the safety of their employees. They did these major goals by breaking them up
into three ideas which are where they buy all of their materials, environmental impact on the waste
produced by the company, and making sure that safety and company hygiene are one of their top
priorities.
