“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be
felt with the heart.”-Helen Keller. This quote made me feel like this story in a very short
sentence summarized. This novel is about an African woman that has a chi of a pervious slave
woman to her father. She grew up with the den mothers but her biological mother had died,
and she was married two times. As her first marriage had failed because she did not get
pregnant within the first year of getting married. Later when she moved to the city with her
second husband she ended up having multiple children. She was very distraught when her first
born had died at a young age and tried committing suicide but was unable to, later she had
more children and lived a very long promising life. The view I took and would like to compare to
