Journal 2.5
I have been to the library in my English class and the speaker was Emily Brown. She taught us
what research we had to use and which websites to go into. For my trends the first one that I
have picked that is important to me and maybe go further into is Social Media- the Percentage
of U.S population with Social Media profile from 2008- 2019. I have been thinking about this
because the statistics show that there has been a huge increase from 2010-2017 because there
are many U.S that have at least one or more Social Media on their technology. I have been
using the BCC library, then I went to Article, then A-Z, and finally Statista. It has been very
helpful for my research because the statistics shows how this effects the society and it has been
truly bad with Social Media.
Emily Brown was very helpful through my research by pointing out the possibilities of how
Social Media can become very horrible and she is one of those people. She tells me that from
2009-2010 and onward there has been an increase one year after than there is a slight increase
each year. The highest percentage was 80% in 2017. Then it decreased by 3% in 2018 and
suddenly increased to 79%. I don’t like when there are 12–year old’s and middle school kids
using Social Media because it is very bad and they maybe catfished or just talking to a child
predator. It is not safe for kids to have Social Media until they are at least 16-years old. Plus,
these kids can probably get kidnapped and probably killed if they message people that are in
their 30s or 40s which I find it to be creepy and disgusting. Kids should go outside and have fun,
