Introduction

After the abstract introduces the study to the reader, the introduction then informs the

reader of the issue regarding offenders using the excuse of alcohol impairing their judgement as

an external attribution of blame to excuse their unacceptable acts of behavior (Loza and

Clements, 1991). Loza and Clements (1991) also discuss how when these offenders utilize

alcohol impairment as an attribution of blame, it creates a connection between violent acts and

alcohol.
