I own a business called Ergo Collections where I sell handmade, all-natural
health and beauty products. Consequently, I handle the exchange of money for the
products I sell. Please keep in mind that I am a broke college student in need of all
kinds of funds.
During this past Mother’s Day I ran a promotion on one of my signature
packages for the holiday. It is originally priced at forty-five dollars for the bundle,
however the sale dropped the bundle to thirty dollars. Most of my sales come from
word-of-mouth, as I am not really a huge social media user or vocal saleswoman.
One of my customers wanted to purchase two bundles and she seemed to be in a
hurry. While she was on her phone inattentively, she handed me ninety dollars and
grabbed her two bundles and rushed away. Now, in my mind I felt like I won the
lottery as I gained thirty extra dollars, but I thought about if I were her and later
found out I was cheated of a sale how upset I’d be and probably slander the
company. I chased her to return her thirty dollars and she was so thankful that she
bought an extra bundle. I was ultimately glad that I gave her the money back
