John F. Kennedy was a very interesting individual. Growing up, he faced many
difficulties such as being compared to his brother and many different illnesses, but there
were also several things that made JFK someone that you could look up to, such as his
fight to join the military, and his ability to remain calm in a stressful situation.
As a child, John suffered many illnesses, such as the whooping cough and scarlet
fever. Years later he was shipped off to boarding school by his parents, where his medical
conditions only got worse. While he was at school, John was diagnosed with colitis, and
was told that it was possible that he had hepatitis or even leukemia. No matter how sick
he was feeling, John always held his head high and did not show weakness.
Years later JFK decided that he wanted to join the Navy, even though the US had
