As a company J.C. Penney is a corporation that I would be honored to work
for. When it came to choosing a company and a person to interview, I wanted to
make sure I agreed with the views and ethical codes demonstrated by the company.
J.C. Penney as a corporation follows the statement “Every Day Matters”. They are
integrated with each and every decision within their company, following the Golden
Rule. They specialize in creating a worthy experience for their customers, with
Every Day Matters, comes with Every Customer Matters. No moment is taken for
granted, and each opportunity is made to achieve its fullest potential.
Dating back to 2008, J.C. Penney appeared in the Fortune 500 company
listing. However, in recent times the company has been through many pitfalls
testing all values and ethics within the company when it came to making decisions.
This prime struggle the company began to face was also another reason I wanted to
reach out, to see how the individuals further down the line were handling this, along

with, were they truly receiving all the information they needed to, or was a process
of filtering and withholding information happening to save the company.
With a contract signed with the company for once I graduate, I wanted to
Interview someone who was currently working in the position I would soon be
trained for. As an intern I did receive a slight taste of what I would be walking into,
however I still was quite lost in what I was fully getting myself into. Once I graduate
I will be accepting the position of Assistant Manager of Merchandise. Initially I was
reaching for higher positions to hear from within the company, however I felt as if,
why not learn and get a clear insight from someone who is doing this job I will be
doing.
