1. It will bring distinguish exactly what the kind of position is. It will define what type of
relationship exist between the company and the person performing the work for the
company. Also it will bring the relative benefits base on the relationship between the
company, person performing work for company, and government such as filing status etc.
2. Independent drivers could be relative to the option of taking on work, and the timing of
doing so. Employee driver could be relative to the amount of control/demand the
company has over the employee, and the limited options a employee has in preforming
other work.
3. I believe both drivers and Uber are stakeholders in Germany and Netherlands ban. Uber
clearly having the bigger stake in it. I do not think it is unethical of Uber paying the
fines. Both parties are accepting and actively participating in the exchange.
In this scenario, Uber benefits greatly over the drivers having a much smaller benefit.
Drivers are accepting a opportunity to make money, benefit, and Uber needs driver to
sustain its business, bigger benefit. Driver who are not compliant in terms of their driving
validations becomes a choose matter on the driver. Again, there is agreement on all
parties, driver, Uber, and customer preference on having a Uber over taxis.
4. I just think if time has settled in making it a more comfortable choice for females, and to
participate in the same benefits that it already offer, that just so happen a majority of men
were taking.
