Facts of the case:
WeiWei liked the Ferrari but she needed time to think about buying the Ferrari
from Joan for a few days. There is a written and signed agreement between
WeiWei and Joan that Joan would hold the car for WeiWei for two weeks. After a
week of thought, WeiWei decided to buy the Ferrari, but only to find out that
Joan has already sold it to another buyer who offer cash. Joan claims that since
WeiWei gave no consideration, there is no contract between the two of them.
Therefore, Joan bears the right to sell the car whenever she wants.
