Mass marketing is a Marketing strategy applied by a company to target large mass of
population. Marketing is a process which starts by recognizing consumer needs and then
developing products or services that helps consumers. This process is much different than
the modern day marketing process where businesses develop new products first and then
recognize customer needs. Mass Marketing is one of the oldest strategy used by most
developing companies.
Mass Marketing strategy is mostly applied by companies which deals with new products or
for products that solve a Mass Problem. New Products mainly use Mass Marketing as the
product targets a Large Number of People. Likewise Companies like Tesla and Nio can use
Mass Marketing as Electric cars solve a Major Problem in the Society. This explains that
Market Penetration Strategy is Generally Targeted Marketing strategies used by Companies
that develop products for a targeted group of people. Companies take into account the
customer decision making Process steps that starts with Need Recognition to Post Purchase
evaluation.
Recent Companies use Priori and Post Hoc Segmentation to come up with better Marketing
techniques by grouping people in different Segments. This is very different with Mass
Marketing as these deals with large number of people and is Majorly used for a cause or a
difference.Positioning Map can help in determining to whether to use Mass Marketing or
not as it surveys and evaluates the competition. Lastly, Mass Marketing is still an effective
Marketing strategy as it can create a Market Revolution by targeting a Mass.
