As time goes by, the mindset of teenagers has changed over the years. In the
earlier days, having part-time jobs was the least wanted alternative for teenagers, and it
was mostly for those who have financial issues at home. As compared to teenagers in
the past, having jobs while studying is prevalent among the youths nowadays. Also, in
some countries, it seems perfectly fine for teenagers to work while they are still
students. For instance, teenagers in Japan are even encouraged by the government to
work while studying. Holistically, I think that teenagers having jobs while studying has
merits of its own, but also it is detrimental to teenagers at certain aspects.
First and foremost, having part-time jobs is vital for teenagers’ inner development.
It makes them stronger, not only physically, but also mentally. The comforts in life which
are provided by parents hitherto has become a deterrent to teenagers’ mental growth.
Not only teenagers were not inculcated the beauty of frugal and independence,
teenagers end up being spoilt brats who are constantly spoon-fed. As teenagers work at
