Is being a Mother a Job?
Being a mother and being a housewife are both jobs. There are many men who thought
those two things were not jobs and that is upsetting. The article says, “making a home for a child
and developing his or her capabilities is often equated with doing nothing” (188). That is where
people make the mistake, and they truly do not know how much work both of those jobs are.
The amount of time put in to make sure everything is perfect is immense. I personally think that
the idea of that “not being a job” comes from ignorant people.
Growing up as a child my mother was a housewife, and I thought it was amazing having
her home when I got home from school with my favorite snack and drink. One day when I was
around the age of 11 we were sitting at the dinner table, and I decided to say, that my mom did
not do any work and you do not have a job mom. That is when my Dad sat me down, and
