Is Affirmative Action still necessary? According to an Investopedia article, Affirmative
action is defined as “a policy in which an individual’s color, race, sex, religion or national origin
are taken into account to increase opportunities provided to an underrepresented part of society”
(Kenton, 2020). While this policy was enacted in order to counter historical discrimination
against particular people groups, it has had the opposite effect in that it encourages reverse
