Contemporary Approaches to Management
An organization, often referred to as an open system, is dependent on the outside
world for things such as raw goods or materials to produce a service or product, capital to
finance the needs of the organization and human resources to produce these services or
products. These resources are inputs. Open systems use these inputs to make products or
services also known as outputs, that are needed by consumers. Consumers then input
their feedback into the organizations which ideally will result in better products and
services for the consumer and success for the organization. (Bateman, 2013)
