The American ideals of liberty, individualism and equality all focus on the welfare of
many. Liberty is the idea that one should have the freedom to think and act as they choose as
long as their actions don’t encroach the freedom of others, focusing on the welfare of others by
emphasising that one’s actions may not infringe on the freedoms anyone else. The idea of
individualism is that people should take initiative to build material advantages for their
well-being, centralizing on one’s welfare by emphasizing one should take actions to maintain it.
The idea of equality is that all individuals are equal and should be treated equally under the law,
