Introduction
The article draws attention to the problem that high and at-risk sexually active youth are
becoming more infected to a dangerous sexually contracted disease called the human
immunodeficiency virus, better known as HIV at an alarming rate. The authors in detail explain
that early intervention in schools, with counselors and better intervention programs, are the
answer to decreasing the rapidly climbing number of youth who become infected daily between
the ages of 11 and 18. The article also focus on why youth are not coming forward more, when
diagnosed or the reasoning behind why these youths are afraid to speak up and be treated.
