Interpretation of Philippians 2:1-18
Over the course of this semester, we have learned different ways to interpret the Bible.
There are of course numerous ways you can interpret a specific passage, but I narrowed it down
to one for the second chapter of Philippians. The interpretation method I chose was cultural
context. The book of Philippians is a letter written by Paul to the Philippians. This passage, in
particular, seems a way or suggestions from Paul to the Philippians on how they should live their
lives according to the way Jesus Christ did.
The first several verses of this chapter in Philippians begin with questions. The questions
asked are a test of your faith and obedience. When you read the first several verses that seem to
