Promoting and implementing Internet freedom is the best way for the U.S. government to
support and exercise human rights and fundamental freedoms online. The U.S. government
worked a contract with Icann (the nonprofit organization) to preserve the unrestricted flow
of information and data creating a free and open Internet. The government implies a call
on all countries over the world to join the Freedom Online Coalition. The foreign policy of
Internet freedom is to protect the freedom to innovate and create without permission or
regulation from any government; to defend everyone’s ability to control their own date and
devices.
Evaluation and Analysis
Internet freedom is a policy to keep the Internet an open network where everyone is free to
connect, communicate, speak, create, and express themselves from undue interference or
censorship. The U.S. government believes that the Internet is a big contributor for the
economic growth of any country. The internet helps building new businesses with lower
infrastructure costs, driving innovation in health care, and generating more jobs on the
unprecedented world community. But some powerful interests like China want to censor
Internet freedom, block the sharing of information, hinder innovation and control the
Internet users by claiming the laws and regulations to protect their own interests, but not
their peoples’ rights.
Alternatives
The U.S. government has several courses of action can take. First the government should
provide more Internet technologies to individuals to prevent them from being censored and
monitored. The U.S. government should give more funds to individuals, so individuals
