The ExxonMobil Corporation is stationed in the country of The United States of
America with its headquarters located in the city of Irving, Texas. ExxonMobil has
placed itself in 52 countries across 6 continents. I will break down the countries and their
names by continent as stated where I found the information. On the western hemisphere
in North America Exxon has Canada, Mexico, The United States, and Caribbean /
Guatemala exposure; in South America, there is Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia. On the
Eastern Hemisphere in Europe we have Azerbaijan, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France,
Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Norway, Romania, The Netherlands,
Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and The United Kingdom. The Middle East/North Africa
has Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates; Sub-
Saharan Africa includes Angola, Chad and Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar,
Nigeria, and Tanzania. Finally, the Asia Pacific region, includes Australia, China, Guam
Sub-Cluster, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New
Guinea, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. ExxonMobil is a
leading company in the oil and gas industry other companies in this industry are
recognized as Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, and Sunoco. ExxonMobil primarily
involves itself in the production of energy based goods from natural gas and oil. Products
and services include Aviation Fuels & Lubricants, Asphalt, Base stocks, Crude Oil Sales,
Commercial Vehicle Lubricants, ExxonMobil Chemical, Industrial Lubricants, Marine
Fuels & Lubricants, Passenger Vehicle Lubricants, Specialties, Technology Licensing &
catalysts, and Wholesale Fuels.

ExxonMobil’s investment objectives vary from country to country. Each country the company
sets up in has a specific utility to the corporation that may be similar but more than likely
completely different than another country. Since the Exxon has an expansive exposure around
the world in regards to a high number of countries I decided to speak on specific countries from
each two continents the corporation is in, instead of every country it has a place in.
Starting with North America in Canada, the political environment of this country is said to be
stable democracy and is run by “a parliamentary democracy, a federation, and a Commonwealth
realm.” The political risks of the country are its “High degree of openness and heavy dependence
on U.S. economy, Insufficient research and development spending, Manufacturing industry’s loss
of competitiveness linked to rising power of emerging competitors, High level of household
debt, Weakening of energy exports (natural gas resources in the United States), and Inadequate
