Introduction
Corruption is the act of being dishonest or fraudulent, characteristically involving money
or special favor for bribery. Corruption has dominated a major place on the global world.
Many nations have pointed out corruption as the biggest giant that is bringing down the
development and growth of nations worldwide. Men and women have become deceitful to
the company’s working for and even to the private sectors and government at large.
Corruption has existed since the ancient times and has continually spread to many
countries across the border (Byrne, 2012). The main reason that has made corruption to
increase is because the people involved in it are the head of states and big business
personnel’s, who use their power and positions to gain what they want. An analysis on
corruption highlights how corruption affects capitalism and foreign investment.
Effects of corruption
Corruption has had a great negative effect in the society yet no speaks boldly on this issue
that affects the economy, social and political development. Due to corruption many nations
have not been able to progress continually to the expected level or standard. This has
always been like that because the people gearing the progress take advantage of their
powers to squeeze money from their offices for their own personal gains. This being the
biggest challenge in the developing countries, corruption has always brought disastrous
result that affects the nation at large. Corruption affects capitalism in a way that, the
private sectors controls the industries using their powers to gain more profit for their own.
Lack of honesty in the economic and political system has led to many countries ending up
in poverty (Adeyeye, 2012). Many have assumed that corruption is just a minor thing that
cannot affect the development of many nations. However; the current research indicates
that, corruption is the leading cause of poverty in many nations. In cases where officials
are trusted with public development funds, the money ends up embezzled by those in
charge. The counties that depend on the development funds continue to scratch the ground
in vain. Additionally, corruption has led to poor services in public sectors, because those
who are ought to be working for public have been too used to bribes, in such a way that,
anyone without a bribe cannot be attended well by the public servants. Corruption has also
