The three parts of intellectual property that will apply to Jimmy in order for him to form a
company will be patents, trademarks and trade secrets. First Jimmy will need to get copyrights
for his design “AreYouThere”. This will protect his invention against anyone copying it and
selling it to make a profit. He will need to copyright all of his work including his pictorial design
and whatever architectural work he used. Second Jimmy will need to get a patent for his design.
Jimmy will need to get a utility patent consisting of multiple parts that makes the machine
function correctly. He also needs to make sure that there is no patents already created like his
patent. If he created any type of substances that helps the machine work he will need to patent
that also. He will do this by a enlisting with the USPTO and inquiring with the government and
state databases to guarantee that a trademark doesn’t exist already. This invention needs to be
able to separate itself from any other invention like it. The trademark also will protect the name
