In order to prepare for your first successful brake replacement on your vehicle you will
need many items. These items include, a new set of brake pads that will be at any
automotive store, you will also need a fully stocked tool box, a jack, a clean flat surface,
and you should watch a YouTube video on this. You will need patience and an abundance
of time. It would also be beneficial to have a second working vehicle available for your
use.
Assuming you have correctly identified that your vehicle needs new brakes. A garage is an
optimal location to work on your vehicle. It keeps you out of the weathers elements thus
making the task at hand easier. If you do not have access to a garage, a clear flat surface is
recommended. A flat surface is more likely to keep your vehicle from rolling on top of
you. Once you have all of this ready, you will begin to loosen the lug nuts with a tire iron
but do not take the nuts all the way off just yet. Place your jack in the reinforced location
under the car that is designed for the jack and then begin to jack the vehicle off the ground
until the tire can spin freely. You should be able to remove the lug nuts the remainder of
the way. Place these lug nuts in a safe place so you do not misplace them. You then begin
