Religion is a belief in which they believe of a supernatural being and worship it.
There are a lot of religion in the world, but the two of the most followers are Christianity
and Islam. Globalization of religion became prevalent nowadays, as they spread their
culture globally, the problem is, it is secularized, and it defies the old ways of their
religion.
I’ve learned that there are a lot of religion in this world, and they are very different
cultures, but they believe in one belief, which is a God. I’ve also learned that through
globalization, religion is becoming more flexible and dynamic as modernization is
occurring. Because of globalization, the religions are united, making a pseudo religion,
or a new different type of religion where is its globalized and culture rich. In my
experience, I encountered both the traditional and modern ways in the religion, as a
Catholic, when I was young every Sunday we are going to the church to attend the
mass, it was very strict back then, you are not allowed to sleep inside the church, it is
like ignoring the words of God, today, it is more loose than before, you do not have to
be in a church just to be connected to the Lord.
In the article, there is a section about conversion, for me, conversion is a part of
spreading the religion but it’s the person choice if he wants to be in a religion or not, it is
okay as long as they just persuading not forcing people to convert. The author also said
that due to the crossing of religions, a new religion was born, I have to agree with that
because crossing of religions creates mixed cultures and beliefs making it unique. I also
agree with the statement that the religion loses its tradition because of modernization,
because of globalization and the world being modernized, some of their ways are not
practiced.
