Slumdog Millionaire
An illiterate slum kid from Mumbai goes on the local T.V. version of “Who wants to be
Millionaire" and comes off becoming a millionaire. Who wants to see that? I guess the
final answer is you all do, like I did.
Visually dazzling and emotionally resonant, Slumdog Millionaire is film that’s both
entertaining and powerful. (Slumdog millionaire review, rotten tomatoes, pg1)
Let’s be ready to hear this wonderful and exciting movie in more detail.
1. The struggle of Jamal Malik and his brother Salim Malik.
2. How Jamal becomes a millionaire?
3. Categories of awards that the movies won.
Jamal Malik( Dev Patel) represents an India hidden by recent cheerleading about that
country’s growing prosperity and a middle-class procession. He’s seen as dirty, virtually
untouchable. He has his brother Salim who becomes a part of a gangster by joining with a
gang leader named Maman. Maman collects street children so that he can ultimately train
them to beg money. Maman wants Jamal to do the same. Jamal loves a girl named Latika.
The three children then try to escape but only two brothers can flee. Salim purposely let go
of Latika’s hand as she tries to board a train on which they were hopping. So the gangster
captures a little girl and trains her as a prostitute to sell her virginity at a high cost. Both
brothers then start living their life travelling on top of trains, selling goods and pretending
to be tour guides at Taj Mahal.
