INTRODUCTION
I. Attention getter: Imagine being a child around the age of 6 to 10 and having a group of
people kidnap you hold you up in a small room and train you to do tricks and preform in front of
thousands of people. Well you don’t have to imagine it because in a way it already happened.
II. Relate to audience: I am pretty sure many of you have been to sea world. All of us have
been there at least once when we were kids. At the time im pretty sure you had fun watching the
cute sea animals do tricks as if they were dogs.
III. Credibility statement: I thought the same thing the animals want to be there. Their
treated so much better than if they were in the water. And they live much longer in captivity
because their fed and cared for but that all changed after I watched the documentary Black Fish.
How they actually treat them and train them.
IV. Thesis statement: After this speech you will know the horrifying truth about sea world
and the methods they use to catch, train, and “care” for them.
V. Transition Sea World might be a place for fun to take your family so spend time and
watch the cute animals do amazing tricks, but do you know the truth about Sea World.
