Sleep Deprivation Leads to Lower Grades
Have you ever run out of time to study for a test and had to stay up all night cramming,
chugging caffeine in hopes to stay awake to ace the test the next morning? If so, you are among
the twenty percent of college students who pull an all-nighter at least once a month (Nortman
and Terrell). Although most people believe pulling an all-nighter will get them the grade they de-
sire, it does not have a positive effect on the brain. Pulling an all-nighter leads to sleep depriva-
tion that will impact how much information you retain from studying; it also causes a lack of
concentration and poor decision making skills. All-nighters effects the brain psychologically
