INDUSTRY BACKGROUND
Since the 19th century, the Philippines has been producing mushrooms. Despite the
fact that mushrooms were initially introduced to the Philippines over a century ago, the
Philippines today contributes only 10% of local mushroom demand (Medenilla, 2020).
Mushrooms as a healthy food in its nature, aside from the fact that it is nutritious,
it can also be a possible source of income for to the community that can aid the economy
by creating jobs and promoting inclusive growth. In fact, it has proven that mushroom
