Indias annual GDP growth has been strong and steady at more than 6 percent over the past
decade and accelerating to over 8 percent in recent years following wide-ranging structural
reforms begun in 1991. Poverty rates have fallen from about 36 percent to 28 percent
between 1993 and 2004.
The Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP)is Mumbais biggest-ever comprehensive
transport management plan.
