The industrial revolution began in the 18th century. Inventions such as the
transcontinental railroad, the cotton gin, electricity and other inventions permanently changed
society. The Industrial revolution changed economies and societies for the better. It has increased
the overall wealth and distributed it more widely then ever. More machines and technology were
being invented which lead us to more advances in the 21st century. The Industrial revolution has
also greatly impacted both America and Britain.
The industrial revolution caused sweeping changes to Britain. A quote from

growth of technology, improvements to the fields of agriculture and production and an overall
economic expansion. (The impact…)”. Inventions were made to improve crop production. The
metal industry came into play when improvements upon existing economic activities took place.
