EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT
Recruitment- process of attracting
employees to an organization.
-attracting people w/ the right qualifications
to apply for the job
External Recruitment- recruiting
employees from outside the organization.
Internal Recruitment- recruiting
employees already employed by the
organization.
Noncompetitive promotions- usually involve
“career progression” positions in which
employees move from a position such as
engineer 1 to engineer 2
Competitive promotions- several internal
applicants compete w/ one another for a
limited number of higher positions.
STEPS IN SELECTING EMPLOYEES
Job Analysis > Selection of Testing
Send-resume ads- recruitment ads in which
applicants are instructed to send their
resume to the company rather than call or
apply in person.
Blind box- recruitment ads that instruct
applicants to send their resume to a box at
the newspaper; neither the name nor the
address of the company is provided.

The company might fear that people
wouldn’t apply if they knew the name
