Abstract
The author discusses the laws of thermodynamics and the pros and cons of energy sources used
to produce necessary energy.

Thermodynamics
Ever wonder why Ice melts or why whipped cream melts and spreads in coffee? The
reason for this is a term known as Thermodynamics. The Laws of Thermodynamics impact the
movement of heat, energy and entropy. Lumen states, “The laws of thermodynamics define
fundamental physical quantities (temperature, energy, and entropy) that characterize
thermodynamic systems” (Lumen, 2017). There are three laws of thermodynamics, which
includes the following….
• The first law of thermodynamics (Law of Conservation of Energy) is that energy is not
produced or eliminated, but that there is a possibility that it changes structure. For
example, many believe that turning on a light would be something that would produce
energy. Even though it may seem like the light produces energy, it does not, energy is
