For:
In my opinion, the government should not implement a policy of free health care for all people because
this would cause a huge loss to the government budget. According to BMI Research in 2019, Vietnam’s
drug import index is 2,144 billion USD.
So imagine if the state implemented a policy of free health care for everyone, how much could that
number increase. Maybe they will have to spend a few hundred billion or even a trillion dong just to
spend on a very small problem of health, which is medicine. Let’s take a concrete example as follows:
during the COVID 19 epidemic the past, the government has provided astrazeneca vaccine for free to
the population, each dose costs 3 dollars.
And as of yesterday, 209,632 guides were given injections, the minimum amount spent by the state was
628,896 dollars. So if the state keeps giving free injections to the people, how much money can it be?
Let’s try to multiply $ 3 by the population of Vietnam, which is 97690814, and that turns out to be a very
large number.
And I believe it is this fact that demonstrates the plausibility of the government not implementing free
health care for all of the people, but instead supporting the people. in health care through some form of
health insurance.
