Executive Summary
This report focuses on gender problems between the U.S. and Asian countries. The
topic is determined by the fact that the problem of cultural differences among these
countries is widespread in international business. The comparison is possible to make
since the cultures in Asia have common characteristics, but the Asian culture vary
significantly compared to the U.S..
In the first part of project we pay attention to the primary problem of this topic.
Secondly we present the resources and materials that were used as the foundation of
study. The main part of work contains three assumptions: (1) do the U.S. companies
hesitate to send woman abroad, (2) do manager roles differ between the U.S. and Asia
(3) how Asian managers deal with female managers from U.S..
We use these questions to find solutions, which are based on a theory and on the
academic articles. And finally conclusions and discussion about the results are
presented.
Identification of the Problem
Internationalization is a current goal for many companies since the advantages are too
significant to ignore. China for example has become a developed market and therefore
companies from the U.S. are more willing to expand business in China (Wei, 2012).
Globalization is used to describe borderless world and how all countries are connected
in some way. It is easy to import and export or have settlements in foreign countries.
