COVID-19 LOCKOUT AND ITS IMPACT ON ENVIRONMENT
From a strange pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan to a life-threatening pandemic
that caused numerous deaths, a single stranded RNA genome has brought the world on its tiny
toes.
Corona Viruses scientifically are a group of related viruses that cause diseases in amphibians and
birds. In humans, coronavirus causes infection in respiratory tract ranging from mild to lethal,
making the process of respiration slow and painful.
COVID-19 is an acronym suggested by World Health Organisation for the disease caused by
novel coronavirus SARS-Cov-2 wherein ‘CO’ denotes corona, ’VI’ virus and ‘D’ the disease
along with the numeric 19 that indicates the year it was found in. As deadly as it sounds,
COVID-19 is causing a terrible turmoil all over the world, along with its environment and
economies.
To flatten the curve of this pandemic, to fill out the voids and to single-handedly combat the
force of this single-stranded virus, the World Health Organisation has devised several plans and
