Bogle, the founder of Vanguard and the founder of the world’s first index fund said, “Index Funds
are un-American.” He discussed the argument which said, “In America, we don’t settle for average.
We’re all above average” (Bogle, 2019). But, of course, he said we’re not all above average. But
basically, the poster was put out by a brokerage firm. The thing about the index fund was that no
sales loads, no portfolio turnover. One doesn’t buy and sell every day like active managers do. He
said it was Wall Street’s nightmare and it still is. Furthermore, he explained although simple,
