The Unchanging Soul
Life is defined as the existence of a human or living being. Everything that is living
obtains a soul, which is the embodiment of a specified quality. The controversy between the idea
of self and soul being one is still in place. Both Socrates and Plato have very similar views on the
topic however, Plato does recognize the difficulties between the two. Socrates believes that our
bodies belongs to a physical realm explaining how they change, they are imperfect and they die,
while our souls are relieved from the body after death and continue on as being immortal. Plato
