Illegal immigration is an extensively contested topic in today’s society. It seems
either you are on one end of the spectrum and for it, or on the other end and completely
against it. There is no in between. Both sides have compelling arguments and some are
downright nonsensical. However, if there is one thing both sides can agree on, it is that
the American economy is in deep trouble, and if there is any way to stop the needless
spending, must be capitalized on. Not surprisingly, the cost of illegal immigration is quite
high ($113 Billion Annually) (The Fiscal Burden). Most of which falls on local and state
governments who simply don’t have the budget to absorb such an enormous burden.
Then, when the states go into a budget deficit the federal government must pay the
deficit, and that is not happening. This leads to a never-ending cycle of compounding
debt, adding on hundreds and hundreds of billions of debt onto a collapsing U.S
